Somerset County Council has released the details of the planned traffic calming for Cole Road. Bruton Town Council has been actively consulting with residents about this for some time, and is delighted that these plans are coming to fruition at last.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ESTABLISH PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS (ZEBRA CROSSINGS) AND CONSTRUCTION OF PROPOSED FLAT TOP ROAD HUMPS (SPEED TABLES) AND SPEED CUSHIONS – COLE ROAD, BRUTON
NOTICE is hereby given that the County Council in exercise of the powers under sections 23, 90(A) and 90(C) of the Highway Act 1980 as amended and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, as amended, intends to establish two zebra crossings and construct flat top road humps (speed tables) and speed cushions in Cole Road, Bruton.
The zebra crossings will be located (i) 130 metres north of its junction with Pitcombe Rock and (ii) 45 metres north of its junction with Cole Mead.
The road humps and speed cushions will not exceed 75 millimetres in maximum height.
A copy of the public notice and the plans showing the location of the zebra crossings, road humps and speed cushions may be inspected at (i) South Somerset Area Highways Office, Mead Avenue, Yeovil, BA22 8RT; (ii) Somerset County Council, B Block Reception, County Hall, Taunton and (iii) on-line at www.somerset.gov.uk/TRO
Any person requiring further information regarding the above scheme should make such request in writing, quoting reference number MH07012016, to Somerset County Council, Traffic Management, County Hall, Taunton TA1 4DY. To be received no later than 11th February 2016.
