Outline planning permission for 60 houses in the Brewham Road has now been applied for by Acorn Developments. At this stage only the details of the access arrangements have been submitted for approval. All other matters (Layout, Scale, Appearance and Landscaping) are reserved for future approval.

Bruton Town Council has been asked by South Somerset District Council, who will be deciding on the application, to submit our comments and opinions on the application. At this stage the Town Council can only discuss those aspects of the application which have been submitted for approval. These are firstly the general scale and nature of the development, and secondly the detailed proposals for access.

As this is a matter of significant public interest, Bruton Town Council has convened a special meeting of the Council to discuss the application. The meeting will be on Thursday April 4th at 7.30pm in the Community Hall. Like all Council meetings this is open to the public, and townspeople will be invited to give their views prior to the Council discussing the application, as will Acorn, the developers making the application.

Details of the application can be found here: South Somerset Planning
