Following changes to the lockdown rules which come into play on Saturday 4th July, Bruton Town Council has reviewed the Government’s guidance and recommendations for children’s play areas. Unfortunately it is clear that we cannot meet the requirements to safely re-open the Jubilee Park play area and it will REMAIN CLOSED.
The regulations recommend high touch areas of a play area to be cleaned by staff regularly, ideally hourly, and we do not have the resources to do this. The Council will keep the regulations under continual review and will reopen the play areas as soon as we can safely.
Separately, the play area has been out of use for some time and requires a full inspection to ensure the equipment is safe to use and make any repairs which are needed. Please do not use the play equipment until this has been carried out.
