Bruton Town Council is delighted to announce that our new Community Development Officer, Eve Anderton, starts work this week. We received an exceptional quality of applications, and learnt a lot from the interviews in October.

Eve Anderton

Eve’s role combines…
  1. Working with Councillors and the community, to develop and implement projects, including sourcing external grant and other funding for the investment work that will make living in Bruton even better.
  2. Helping co-ordinate and support our Town’s extraordinary volunteering energies.
  3. To enable the Town Council to communicate professionally with residents, local organisations, and outside bodies.

We created the Community Development Officer in our 2020-21 Budget, agreed in January. This year’s Coronavirus pandemic has brought into even sharper focus both the need for local resilience to such emergency events, and the power of Bruton community to respond positively.

Many of you will know Eve already from her work with St Mary’s Bruton, the Scouts, and local schools. Please congratulate her when you get a chance.
Eve will be joining this week’s Community Engagement Committee. She can be contacted on cdo@brutontowncouncil.gov.uk
We thank all of people who applied for the job, especially for their efforts in an impressive set of interviews.
