We are still looking to recruit a part-time project officer. Retrofit Bruton and Cary, largely funded by a grant from Somerset County Council, aims to help local homeowners radically improve the energy performance of their property. (You can read more about the project here).
In this new post, you will provide administrative support to Justine, our new professionally qualified retrofit co-ordinator. This could mean dealing with public enquiries, booking appointments, keeping records and preparing presentation and publicity materials, as well as other duties.
You won’t need any specialist knowledge, but you should be a quick and willing learner, with a good general education, and an interest in and commitment to assisting the community in reducing its carbon footprint. You will be a good communicator, and as part of a very small team you will need to be able to use your initiative and be self-motivating.
This post is part-time (14 hours per week, hours worked to be agreed by negotiaton) and graded at SCP 7-12 (£10.44-£11.53 per hour, pay award pending). It is offered for a period of 17 months which may potentially be extended if funding allows. National Joint Council terms and conditions apply.
How to apply
Please read the Job Description and Person Specification for the post carefully.
Send us a short covering letter and a CV, which when read together should demonstrate that you meet the criteria in the Person Specification. Please also provide the name and contact details of two referees, one of whom should be your most recent employer, and let your referees know that we may be in touch with them.
In order to be considered, your application needs to be with us by 12.00 on Tuesday 28 September 2021. Email applications to recruitment@brutontowncouncil.gov.uk
