Bruton Town Council is sad to hear the announcement of the passing of the Queen on Thursday, 8 September.

The reading of the local proclamation will take place at 4.05pm on Sunday at Crown Green (by Church Bridge), and the church bells will ring to celebrate the new king at 4.15pm.

A Book of Condolence will be opened in Bruton Community Office, on the High Street, on Monday, and will be available for callers Monday to Saturday 10-12 am and also 6-7pm on Monday to Friday. Those who prefer to send messages of condolence directly to the Royal Family, can do so via this form. A selection of messages will be passed onto members of the Royal Family, and may be held in the Royal Archives for posterity.

More information on how the Bruton community can pay its respects will be provided on this page over the coming days.
