Hauser & Wirth Somerset has confirmed that groundworks for the new ground-mounted transformer, and new power supply, will progress on 4 September.
This is to facilitate a new power supply for multiple electric vehicle charging points in the gallery car park, and potentially upgrade the existing incoming supply, all key steps towards Hauser & Wirth’s decarbonisation planning.
There will be some interruption to access through Durslade Community Garden, and access to allotment beds, especially the beds nearest the wall along Dropping Lane, from 4 September to 2 October. Hauser & Wirth Somerset will do their very best to minimise this disruption, by being in close liaison with its contractors.
There will be a part road closure in place from 4 – 8 Sep on Dropping Lane, with Traffic lights in place (signage will appear next week)
The trenching through the allotment land will take place across the two weeks 4-15 September
The concrete base will for the new transformer will be installed 11-15 September
The transformer will be mounted onto its concrete pad during the week of 18-22 September
Shut down and switch over is scheduled for October 2
The new transformer will eventually be clad with sympathetic materials
Please see the attached plan for the route of cables and transformer location
