‘Many people in Bruton have lost their jobs, or otherwise been severely affected financially as a direct result of Coronavirus.
From Sunday 29 March 2020 and each Sunday for the foreseeable future volunteers will be bagging up food packages and household essentials to deliver to people and families in need in Bruton. This is not a shopping service, so you will not be able to choose what you get, but we will do what we can to meet special dietary requests. Nappies, sanitary products, toilet paper and dried dog and cat food can be supplied on request.
If you are struggling on a low or zero income, we will try and help. At the moment, because we are not yet sure how many people need this service and have limited resources, we cannot guarantee to meet every request. We will do what we can, and will prioritise those who are most in need in the Bruton postcode area. All you need to do is fill out the form below to register for this scheme, each week that you need help in this way. (By completing this form, you are agreeing to Bruton Town Council storing very limited personal information about you. To find out more about how we store and use this information click here.)
The deliveries will be made by volunteers between 11.00 and 1.00 on Sundays.’
The new Food Drop service is volunteer led. It is being publicised by the Town Council but is not a Town Council service. If you wish to donate either cash or in kind to support the service please use this link.
