Bruton is very lucky to have such a great space as Jubilee Park for everyone to enjoy, but sadly several incidents of vandalism there and especially in the play area have been reported in recent weeks. We have spent a fair amount of public money – your money – installing some new and exciting play equipment, and it has given local children lots of fun and enjoyment, so it is very disappointing when wanton vandalism puts it out of use and we have to spend more money repairing or cleaning it up.
The most significant vandalism was in the play area and forced us to remove the horse rocker. Thankfully the grounds maintenance team were on the scene very quickly to clear the area and make it safe again – so very many thanks to SLR Outdoor Maintenance for their rapid response and hard work!
Please help to take care of this lovely space, be vigilant, and if you witness any acts of vandalism please report it to the police.
Please also be respectful to the maintenance team if they have to remind you of the rules from time to time. They are working very hard to keep the site safe and looking lovely for everyone to enjoy!
