Join one of our activities coming up in April…
Our dates have shifted slightly in April because of Easter and other commitments.
💚 Saturday 12 April 2025 Hoedown: Help us tidy up Warren Close🌱 🌷🌼
We’ve noticed that the Bartons that we have been revisiting this year have stayed relatively weed-free and tidy, with a few plants left in nooks and crannies to flower for bees and other pollinators. This time it’s the turn of Warren Close, the barton that we cleared in February last year.
All welcome. We’d love you to join us. You’ll find us in Warren Close between 11am and midday on Saturday morning. If we finish Warren Close early, we’ll tackle Crown Barton.
Please bring your weeding tools and gardening gloves, and something to kneel on if you need it.
There’s a coffee morning at Bruton Community Hall beforehand, should you need a boost! – don’t forget they only take cash. This month, the coffee morning is in aid of Cancer Research.
There is a Bruton Hoedown WhatsApp group. Please reply to this email with your phone number if you’d like to be added to it.
💚 Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, 20 & 21 April 2025: Bruton Community Freecycle ♻ ♻ ♻
We are hoping that this streak of fine weather will last and that we can hold a Community Freecycle on Sunday 20 and Monday 21 April.
If it’s dry, please put items you no longer need, out in a sensible place with a ‘Freecycle’ or ‘Please help yourself’ notice, and take a stroll around town to see what useful or lovely items you can give a new home to. Afterwards, please clear away anything that hasn’t been taken.
💚 Saturday 26 April 2025: Stitch It Don’t Ditch It at Bruton Community Library ![]()

We’ll be at the library from 10.30am to 12.30pm with our mending kit, with tools and materials for darning, patching and fixing buttons. You’re welcome to come along with your mending, and we’ll help you get started if needed. Or just bring your sewing, knitting or crochet, and create in company.
