Residents and visitors are advised that a field maple tree in Jubilee Park will be felled on Tuesday 29 September following a recent tree survey.
The survey was commissioned after several limbs fell from the tree, raising concerns about its condition and the potential risk to park users. Following professional assessment, it has been recommended that the tree be removed in the interests of public safety.
While it is always regrettable to lose a mature tree, every effort will be made to retain its value for local wildlife. As much of the trunk as possible will be relocated elsewhere within Jubilee Park, where it will provide a natural habitat for insects, fungi, small mammals and other wildlife.
Please take extra care when visiting the park on Tuesday 29 September. Tree surgeons will be carrying out the felling operation and there may be temporary restrictions in place around the work area. Members of the public are asked to follow any signage and instructions from the contractors to help ensure everyone’s safety.
