The town council has recently learned that both the developments proposed for Brewham Road will be considered by Somerset Council’s Planning Committee (South) on Tuesday 23 July 2024.

The meeting will take place at 2.00 pm in the Council Chamber at the Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT. You can read the agenda and associated papers here. The two Bruton developments come early in the agenda. Members of the public normally have a short opportunity to address the committee. If you wish to do so, please note that requests to speak must be made in writing or by email by 5.00 pm on Wednesday 17 July 2024 to democraticservicesteam@somerset.gov.uk. The committee meets in public, so if you do not wish to speak you can just turn up. One or more councillors may attend the Committee to present the town council’s position.

The town council’s position

The town council has already held numerous meetings to discuss both applications. On each occasion the council has recommended that the application to develop be refused. It is clear from Somerset Council Planning Committee’s meeting papers that the town council’s views have been accurately reported. Councillors are not proposing to arrange a further meeting, as this would inevitably reach the same conclusion.
