Bruton Town Council are disappointed to report a number of incidents of antisocial behaviour that took place overnight at Jubilee Park, Bruton.
The Grounds Maintenance team work extremely hard to keep the park a clean, safe and welcoming space for everyone in the community to enjoy. In fact, they had only just completed maintenance work and tidied the park yesterday.
Unfortunately, overnight there were several acts of vandalism and damage, which is having to be fixed/cleaned up by the Grounds Maintenance team today, including:
• Evidence of a fire being lit in the park
• Damage to the crossbar at the top car park
• Damage to the gate lock
• A damaged barbecue being dumped on the field
• Litter scattered across the site
This behaviour is both disappointing and costly, and detracts from a valued community space that is enjoyed by residents and visitors of all ages.
The incidents have been reported to Avon and Somerset Police.
We would ask everyone in the community to remain vigilant and report any witnessed antisocial behaviour. If you saw anything suspicious in or around Jubilee Park overnight, or have any information that may assist, please contact Avon and Somerset Police.
Thank you to our Grounds Maintenance team for their continued hard work in helping to keep Jubilee Park a lovely place for the whole community.
