The Annual Town Forum will took place on Tuesday 12th May 2026, in Bruton Community Hall.
Annual Town Forum 2026 Minutes.
This event is always a great opportunity to celebrate Bruton’s energetic community life.
Representatives of various Bruton organisations were thanked for coming to explain what they had been doing over the past year.
Cllr Coulter, the Chair of Town Committee, gave a report from the Town Council’s year just completed:
Cllr. Coulter remarked that Bruton is only a small town, but its residents support a large number of clubs, societies and other organisations and there is a great deal going on.
Some of the projects which the Town Council has supported over the previous twelve months, complementing its routine statutory and administrative role, include:
- Signage and other work at Abbey Ponds
- Support for the proposed Brubowl skate park
- Arranging for the public area on the riverbank just north of the Packhorse bridge to be named Bishton Green, in memory of the late John Bishton who did so much for Bruton
- The installation of a digital information screen in the front window of the Community Office
- Making arrangements to commission a contractor as a Town Ranger, to undertake routine and emergency maintenance and repairs in public areas of the town and help to improve its appearance.
Representatives of Bruton’s many community groups and organisations spoke about their activities over the past year and what is planned for the next year. Please see below for the available reports:-
