The footpath from Crown Green through to Bishton Way and Packhorse Bridge has been closed by Somerset Council, after repeated notifications from the town council about the deterioration of the tarmac surface. A Senior Asset Maintenance Officer from Somerset Council attended the site on Friday 10th April to assess the situation.
The barriers closing the footpath have now been secured in place. Please do not attempt to use the footpath, as it is not safe. The photo shows quite clearly the volume of stone that has fallen into the river, but this is not visible from the footpath surface.
